ITS OFFICIAL - NOMINATIONS ARE APPROVED

NOMINATION PAPERS for the Council Elections for MID AND EAST ANTRIM have been submitted and approved by the Deputy Returning Officer Mrs Anne Donaghy.
The DUP are running 13 candidates in three areas

BANNSIDE
BALLYMENA
BRAID

The Election will take place on Thursday 22nd May 2014. Following the verification votes the count will take place at the Seven Towers Leisure Centre on Friday 23rd May 2014 @ 10.30am
Speaking after nomination approval, Phil Moffatt said

 "It's all systems GO NOW for the election, and it's FULL SPEED AHEAD now until polling day. The DUP  ADVICE CENTRE has dealt with over 18,000 cases, since we last visited the polls. We have delivered a service second to none  to the people of the borough and I'm looking forward to meeting many of the electorate whom we have helped along the way."

LEST WE FORGET

DUP BANNSIDE candidate PHIL MOFFATT had recently visited the battlefield of the SOMME to pay his personal tribute to those who where prepared to pay the supreme sacrifice in defence of the freedoms of our realm.

"It was a very moving experience to visit the graves of so many of our British troops who lost their lives on the battlefields of France. As a nation we owe a great deal of debt to those who gave their tomorrow,  that we might enjoy our today." said Phil.

"I had the great honour of conducting a short religious service at the grave side of some of Ulsters finest men, who left our shores, never to return home again.  During this year of 2014 , we note the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the 1st World War  and salute the memory of  our brave servicemen who paid the price so that we can enjoy the liberties and freedoms which we so often take for granted." said Phil

DUP - BANNSIDES PHIL MOFFATT

PHIL MOFFATT is a married man with three children living in GLARRYFORD. Phil has a wealth of experience  in local government, having previously served on one of the 6 core Councils whilst living in England.

He stood for the DUP in the 2011 local elections and polled the 10th highest vote in the entire borough. Phil believes the core values that should be ever-present in local politics are "ABILITY, HONESTY AND INTEGRITY"  " To represent my local community within the Council Chamber would not only be a great privilege but a tremendous honour also."

BANNSIDES DUP MAKES ITS SELECTION

The North Antrim Association of the DUP have selected PHIL MOFFATT to run for the Party in BANNSIDE. At a recent selection meeting, the local association placed its confidence and trust in Phil nominating him to represent the party within CULLYBACKEY, GLARRYFORD and the greater area of BANNSIDE.

Speaking after the meeting Phil said " I'm delighted that my nomination has received the full backing and support of the members of North Antrim Association. The DUP are the only voice of Unionism who can provide joined up government, from the Local Council, through to Stormont, Westminister, the House of Lords and onto the European Parliament. "

We need the electorate of BANNSIDE to have a strong voice within the new Council Structure. The DUP are best placed to defend and deliver for the hard working people of the area.
